Role Summary:
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing holds a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the company's sales, marketing, and business development initiatives. Reporting directly to the President, this position oversees the integration of sales strategies with marketing initiatives to achieve the company's strategic objectives and uphold brand integrity. The VP will lead efforts to drive wallet share growth, market share expansion, and profitability while leading a team through integrity, innovation and collaboration across all Wilson Lumber divisions.
Scope of the Position:
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will lead a team of 6 direct reports and 40 indirect reports to include Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Multifamily Sales, Estimating, Installed Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Some travel will be required at <25%.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Developing comprehensive sales plans and budgets aligned with market trends and the company's strategic objectives.
Leading marketing initiatives to enhance brand integrity, market presence, and customer engagement.
Collaborating closely with business development and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Championing innovative sales and marketing strategies to maintain the company's position as a market leader.
Managing cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, profit centers and other Wilson Lumber divisions
Conducting annual performance reviews and assessments, setting KPIs, and driving performance improvement initiatives.
Relationship management with key customers over $300,000 per year to include quarterly meetings with principles
Develop Sales Team skills through inspirational leadership
Maintain reporting such as Customer profitability, sales funnel and risk assessment.
Develop and utilize Customer Stratification for margin and revenue growth
Ensure Sales Team is adhering to SOP and company procedures (Sales presentations, order and PO processes, documents for processing, etc.)
  • Schedule and conduct a quarterly conversation with each direct report as required
Position Qualifications:
A proven track record of honesty, integrity, innovation, creativity and experience in a vertically integrated manufacturing operation.
Proficiency in CRM systems such as HubSpot and sales enablement tools like Phocas.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing sales team.
Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Lead meaningful weekly sales meetings that meet objectives, invoke teamwork and problem solving
Must be broadly focused and able to manage multiple efforts concurrently
Microsoft Word & advanced Excel knowledge.
Exceptional organizational skills
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Management, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 15+ years' experience in sales management within a complex business environment responsible for revenue exceeding $100M and a staff in excess of 40
Hands-on experience in sales budgeting development and implementation.
Familiarity with sales technologies and systems, with a willingness to adapt to new tools and platforms.
BisTrack or other Epicor ERP experience desirable
Physical Requirements:
Sit, Stand, Walk frequently
Occasional automotive travel to job sites and work locations.
You will be expected to follow any other job related instructions and to perform other job related
