Account Manager for Specialty Chemical
This is not a remote or hybrid position
Primary purpose of job:
To promote and increase sales for the Specialty Chemicals Business by building strong relationships with current and potential customers, understanding customers’ technical requirements and working internally with research and production to meet their expectations with exceptional customer service.
Major Duties of Job:
Account Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts to maintain and grow business.
  • Resolve customer questions/complaints timely by working closely with customer service and other departments
  • Follow up on sales inquiries
  • Communicate regularly with customers to understand their business objectives and to maintain relationships
  • Lead onsite and virtual customer audits
Customer/Market Information
  • Develop greater understanding of external customers’ organizations, identify key contacts and decision makers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing business and establish new business
  • Gather industry information on changing market trends, competitor activities and developments affecting business opportunities.
Planning and Administrative
  • Communicate and negotiate pricing with assigned accounts.
  • Prepare annual account strategies and call plans.
  • Management of designated accounts including new product set up, pricing recommendations, service, and issue resolution.
  • Timely documentation of sales calls and key telephone conversations.
  • Coordinate new product evaluations and facilitate setting up new products for the specialties group.
  • Advise management and peers regarding key customer and market developments for purpose of discussing ideas and strategies. Support the mission of the organization
Project Management
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, research, and others to develop customized solutions that ensure customer requirements are met in the transfer of technology to internal manufacturing.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution from planning through delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Travel
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to customer sites, industry conferences and other business-related events. Measures of Performance
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field experience preferred
  • Proven experience in technical sales or account management in the chemical industry preferred
  • Strong project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to continuously build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Solution-oriented focus with good judgment in decision making.
  • Routine use of basic selling and negotiation skills.
  • Basic business skills, marketing, product management, and accounting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce CRM and ERP software.
This position is a full-time position and is available immediately. McGean offers competitive pay commensurate with experience and benefits package.
