The Events Sales Manager will drive the top-line financial performance of the venue and whose swagger will positively impact our brand image. Success in this energetic role requires an entrepreneurial, business development go-getter who craves winning at both inbound and outbound sales activities.
Responsibilities
- Conducts outbound sales activities to generate market excitement for our new venue and to book business. Outbound sales activities expectations include: cold calling, cold emailing, social selling, lead generation, and visiting hotels, CVBs, local associations and destination management companies to cultivate referral relationships.
- Promotes a service driven culture, through actions and leadership.
- Generates, follows through and closes inbound leads with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Conveys a smile and a service-obsession when communicating via phone, email or text.
- Effectively sells against the competition with honest communication around strengths and weaknesses.
- Recognizes and acts on all opportunities to upsell services.
- Follows up with clients after each event to gain knowledge and feedback and to strengthen the relationship with a potential repeat customer.
- Successfully drives and transforms sales, marketing, and brand strategies into tactical and measurable action plans.
- Creates in-house and industry events to help market and promote the venue
- Completes contracts with each customer and vendor to ensure their understanding and compliance.
- Conducts unforgettable site tours with prospective clients, vendors and industry colleagues.
- Creates and maintains SOPs for critical processes.
- Possesses sound expertise in all systems and equipment in the building.
- Participates in meetings weekly with ownership to provide updates on leads, bookings, needs, and feedback.
- Leverages industry connections to drive events to the venue and to promote the Sanctuary brand.
- Manages software critical to the sales and event bookings.
- Facilitates guest deposits and payments.
- Coordinates with all preferred vendors to ensure an amazing customer experience.
- Ensures all certificates of insurance are received and stored for all third-party vendors.
- Participates in budgeting and forecasting.
- Participates in special projects as needed and handles emergency requests and assignments.
Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in event sales, banquets, catering, hospitality, or related industries- similar position within a relevant industry.
Schedule Requirements
This role will require varying work schedules, including nights and weekends, depending on the in-house events. Flexible comp-time is available to offset long weeks when needed.
Up to 10% of the time, travel may be necessary, to attend mixers, industry events, etc.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this role, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The team member frequently is required to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The team member is frequently required to sit; The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $68,692.00 - $75,000.00 per year
