We are seeking a Director of Sales to grow along with us, and to be a part of our guest-first company culture! This position is for the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Cromwell, CT and Courtyard by Marriott Southington, CT.
Position Summary:
This individual is responsible for selling the total hotel(s) through active involvement in rooms and catering merchandising efforts. This position requires active participation in the direct sales efforts. The Director of Sales is also expected to have direct involvement with guests and employees, as well as participate in community activities. This is a position requiring active, vigorous leadership and foresight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute sales activities to achieve budgeted goals.
- Responsible for overall account management, business generation, and sales prospecting for assigned hotel property.
- Responds to all sales inquiries in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency.
- Participates in Revenue Management strategies using such tools as Star reports, demand analysis and applicable front office systems.
- Manage existing and new client relationships, support revenue management efforts and work with all hotel departments to deliver a positive experience for the guests and groups.
- Responsible for completing sales functions of the assigned hotel including soliciting accounts to meet or exceed hotel revenue goals.
- Organizes, maintains, and tracks sales data.
- Stays abreast of industry trends that the hotel can capitalize on.
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process.
- Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying clients' needs.
- Enhance the hotel’s community image by actively participating in associations, events, clubs, and boards.
- Assume active ownership of assigned sales territory and respond to specific market needs, initiate needed action and suggest to sales leadership any necessary actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comply with attendance and all other policies outlined in the employee handbook.
Job Requirements
- Experience with FOSSE, MARSHA and STS preferred.
- Ability to interpret and perform basic computer functions, including MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with STS is preferred.
- Two years minimum Hotels Sales experience with Marriott preferred.
- Strong Hotel Sales experience required.
- An innovative thinker and proven hospitality sales leader who has exceeded sales goals in current or previous roles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to create and maintain relationships internally and with client base.
- Proficiency in Revenue Management strategies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
