Technical Sales Engineer

Job Summary: Provide presale technical services to Customers and Sales Managers, including developing new perimeter security system designs/proposals and conducting factory/field demonstrations, product training, and sales support.

Job Duties: Minimum job duties include the following.

• Work with the Sales team and customers to design new perimeter security systems based on risk profile and site considerations: Review RFP’s and project schematics toward generation of quotations, conceptual site layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and other required submittal materials.

• Enter customer and project quotation information into CRM system.

• Provide telephone/e-mail support to customers with technical sales questions, spare parts needs, and equipment troubleshooting.

• Issue quotations for piece parts, service, or training trips.

• Conduct product demonstrations and technical sales presentations at trade events and customer sites.

• Travel to customer sites for surveys, proof of concept installations, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and operator training.

• Serve as backup for conducting training classes at the factory or at customer locations.

• Provide technical assistance to other groups or departments as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience:

• Two to three (2-3) years of experience in a Technical Sales or Service environment, Technical knowledge in the areas of perimeter security, video surveillance, access control, or related products preferred.

• Illustrated proficiency with the use of CAD software.

• Background in digital/IP network communications, and system configuration/integration.

• Excellent communication skills, enabling professional interaction with internal and external customers. Illustrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint) toward the development of technical presentations.

• Must possess a valid AZ Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Physical demands: Must be able to stand and walk outdoors for long periods of time to supervise the installation of test zones, climb ladders at various heights, and lift up to 25 pounds. Air and vehicle travel, including weekends, is required.
