Job Overview:

The Director of Sales and Marketing with my client at, SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Southfield MI, will lead our sales and marketing efforts to drive revenue, increase market share, and solidify the hotel’s presence in the local area. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of the hospitality market to effectively develop and implement successful sales and marketing strategies. Salary is $50,000-60,000 base salary plus bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop strategic sales and marketing plans that align with the hotel’s objectives and brand standards.
  • Analyze market trends, economic factors, and competitor strategies to adjust plans and forecasts accordingly.

Sales Leadership:

  • Drive the hotel’s sales efforts, focusing on key markets and customer segments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, tour operators, and other relevant entities.
  • Manage key accounts, and oversee contract negotiations to maximize revenue and profitability.

Marketing Management:

  • Oversee the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns tailored to the hotel’s target audience, including digital marketing, advertising, promotions, and public relations efforts.
  • Collaborate with Marriott’s corporate marketing team to leverage national promotions and campaigns effectively.

Team Development and Management:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales and marketing team, setting clear goals and performance metrics.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to ensure team members are proficient in their roles and customer service.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum return on investment.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sales and marketing strategies, adjusting budgets and plans as necessary.

Customer Relations:

  • Enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring exceptional service throughout all stages of the customer journey.
  • Resolve complex customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, marketing campaign results, and market analysis to senior management.
  • Participate in management meetings, contributing to the overall strategy and decision-making processes of the hotel.

Compliance and Brand Alignment:

  • Ensure all sales and marketing activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain brand integrity by ensuring all marketing materials and efforts are in line with

Job Type: Full-time
