Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Small Business Account Manager to join our team.in Glastonbury, CT. This role will serve as the primary business contact for assigned clients and will be responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and retention. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a customer-first mentality, and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities while fostering long-term relationships with clients and brokers. As a key player in the account management team, you will represent client needs within the organization and support new and repeat business opportunities. We are currently operating with a hybrid schedule, in office Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and remote Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Renewal Strategy: Collaborate with Underwriting to proactively implement a renewal strategy that ensures client retention and continued business growth.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain a strong business relationship with clients by understanding their challenges and needs. Ensure a seamless renewal process for clients.
  • Business Growth: Develop and nurture relationships with clients and brokers to maximize retention and identify opportunities for new business.
  • Client Support: Respond to inquiries from clients, brokers, and consultants, and liaise with internal teams to resolve issues related to claims, eligibility, dues, and more.
  • Problem Resolution: Monitor accounts to identify potential issues, proactively address concerns, and escalate problems when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • New Group Implementation: Support new group implementations in partnership with Small Business Sales Executives, ensuring timely and accurate onboarding.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to manage billing, collections, and eligibility issues, and ensure smooth processes for clients.
  • Wellness Promotion: Proactively promote the benefits of good oral health and wellness to clients and brokers.
  • Sales Support: Assist in the sale of new business by supporting the Small Business Sales Executive, referring inquiries, and participating in the sales process when needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate client information in Salesforce.com and update the system as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of account management experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
    • Experience with Small Business accounts or sales support is a plus.
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications:

    • Must possess or be willing to acquire and maintain an active Health Insurance License.
    • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and a strong problem-solver.
    • Proven ability to build relationships and influence clients and brokers.
    • Strategic thinker with strong decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and perform extensive computer work.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory and operate a vehicle.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and reaching.
  • Non-standard hours may be required during busy periods (e.g., open enrollment).

Working Environment:

  • Ability to meet deadlines and attendance standards in a moderate noise environment.
  • Confidentiality agreement will be required.
