Territory Assistant (Part Time) - Nanaimo, BC V9R 0A1
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Territory Manager, the Territory Assistant is a part-time role that is an integral part of the field merchandising team. The Territory Assistant will support the Territory Manager with the implementation of rooftop level execution of all product programs within an assigned group of accounts and Retail Merchandisers.
Your starting salary will be $18.75 an hour.
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Trains new and existing employees on merchandising processes and procedures.
  • Helps to ensure Retail Merchandisers maintain the expected number of visits and work within the number of hours allocated to each visit so as not to exceed the budget.
  • Supports service coverage where vacancies exist, or where vacation/sick day coverage is needed or in store.
  • Participates in and assists with department revisions, remerchandising, relocations, and new store installations in assigned territory where required.
  • Flexibility is required to react to issues that arise on a job site in real time to ensure existing priorities can still be achieved.
Communication Skills:
  • Maintains ongoing communication with Territory Manager and territory colleagues to ensure knowledge of upcoming programs and in-store activities is up to date.
  • Strong communication skills needed to gain, share and clarify instructions and job requirements.
  • Liaises with account management as a Hallmark representative to identify any issues or opportunities and advises Territory Manager.
  • Builds/maintains strong working relationships with Retail Merchandisers and account level management.
Qualifications and Experience required:
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a retail environment beneficial
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Must have a dependable vehicle
  • Must be able to travel when required
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must have strong knowledge of Smartphone technology and ability to effectively manage an email account
