Must currently reside in Utah to cover the Mountain Division

We are hiring a Key Account Manager (KAM) for our Food Service Sales team to be Home Office based in the Utah Market, focusing on building Food Service end user operator relationships to achieve sales goals. In this Field Sales role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Key Accounts to include Region Chains, Large Leverage Operators, and Independent Food Service Operators. Building long-term partnerships that grow and sustain sales volume to achieve profit goals while staying within expense budget.

Responsibilities:
    • Obtain Food Service volume goals in the Mountain Region: Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico
    • Selling of Ajinomoto products and programs to Food Service Customers
    • Develop strong relationships with Key Accounts and Distributors Sales Force to successfully achieve sales goals
    • Planning market business strategies to achieve company goals as follows:
      • Sales Budget
      • Tier 1/Star Focus Items Budget
      • Branded Products Budget
      • Regional Chains Budget
      • C-Store
      • Recreation
      • Deli
    • Target and maintain list of mutually agreed upon Large Leverage Operator accounts
    • 15 quality calls per week minimum
    • Training distributors sales reps in the features and benefits of products and services, and introducing new product programs to the market.
    • Participate in market blitzes designed to sell designated Ajinomoto items to key accounts for selected Distributors

    • As directed by DSM, develop a productive food show booth design and have ability to offer solutions and sell cases to operators in a food show selling environment
    • Communication
      • Weekly Itinerary
      • Weekly catch up calls
      • Monthly Call Report
Qualifications:
    • Work will require up to 80% of travel and occasional weekend and evening work. Job demands may require long periods of sitting or standing; telephone work and/or computer work as well as interactions with other employees and customers.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
    • Minimum of 3+ years of Food Service experience preferred, especially as it relates to the interaction between Distributors and Operators
    • Culinary, Food Service Broker, or Manufacturer Direct Sales and Distributor experience is preferred
    • Supports and executes product presentations and demonstrations in commercial food service kitchen environments
    • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortable presenting to large audiences
    • Proficient skills in written and oral communications, presentation skills and personal computing (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Power Point)
    • Position requires stamina and ability to handle multiple tasks, make decisions and at times work with ambiguous situations.
    • Must be able to work under time constraints and meet deadlines
    • Must be an organized self-starter and have the ability and focus to work from home office which is required
    • Acts with integrity and accepts coaching direction to develop professional skill set
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Pay Range $80,000 - $90,000
    • Plus car allowance
