Sallee Horse Vans is growing and looking for horsemen and women to join our sales team for the East Coast and South Florida areas.
SUMMARY
The Racetrack Sales Agent works with other Sales Agents and Dispatch teams to maximize loads and revenue, while supervising the OTR Drivers while at your residing racetrack/training center.

REQUIREMENTS and DESIRED SKILLS
- Must have 5+ years of previous thoroughbred race track experience
- Must have knowledge of horse care & welfare, as well as equine transportation
- Must be willing to travel seasonally to other racetracks and sales
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
- Must be proficient in MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make rounds through all the barns daily to provide customer service and book shipping requests.
- Provide our customers and potential customers with excellent service and response.
- Load and unload trucks that come in or out of the racetrack.
- Assist drivers & grooms with loading/unloading tack. Transport tack in pick-up truck or golf cart to/from barns as needed.
- Assist in other transportation related functions as necessary.
- Coordinates Local and OTR trips with other offices and agents to obtain maximum utilization of trucks and revenue. Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and agents on pertinent trip details.
- Work with Billing/Payroll to obtain and provide proper billing for invoicing and payroll, as well as assisting in collections on past due accounts.
- Work with the OTR Dispatcher to coordinate scheduling of trucks when needed.
- Work with the Dispatchers in Lexington/Ocala and other Agents to maximize utilization of trucks.
- Communicate and share truck load information with Dispatch team members (Lexington/Ocala) so all parties can be notified of departure and arrival information.
- Communicate trip detail with drivers to help them be well prepared for the trip(s).
- Call drivers when trip changes or comes up after normal call-in times.
- Coordinate with Fleet Manager to have the equipment which is domiciled at your racetrack serviced thus preventing operational delays and safety issues.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, communicate, and coach drivers while in your presence to constantly improve our customer service and safety. Communicate any driver concerns to the HR Director and Operation & Sales Manager. Communicate any accidents, incidents, injuries to the Safety Director. Coordinate and dispatch the drivers who are domiciled at the racetrack in which you reside. Address complaints and resolve problems.
