We are seeking a motivated and experienced SMB Regional Sales Manager to drive the growth of our payroll solutions for Small-to-Medium Businesses (SMBs). This hybrid role requires a dynamic leader who is not only responsible for managing a sales team but also directly driving new business by engaging with prospects, partners (CPAs, Banks, Financial Advisors, etc) and closing deals. As an SMB Regional Sales Manager, you will lead by example, actively selling payroll solutions, managing sales activities, and mentoring a team of sales representatives to achieve targets.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Sales Leadership & Team Management:

Lead by Example: Actively sell payroll solutions to SMB clients while also managing and guiding the sales team. Provide coaching, support, and direction to ensure sales reps meet or exceed quotas.

Recruitment & Training: Hire, onboard, and train new sales representatives. Foster an environment of continuous learning, ensuring the team is equipped with the tools, knowledge, and motivation to succeed.

Performance Monitoring: Set clear sales goals and track team performance regularly. Implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure team objectives are consistently met.

Pipeline Management: Manage the sales pipeline, forecast future sales, and ensure that sales team members are properly managing their opportunities. Lead weekly sales meetings to discuss strategies, review pipeline health, and monitor progress.

Direct Sales & Business Development:

Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify new business opportunities through outreach, networking, and inbound leads. Generate a robust pipeline of SMB payroll prospects.

Channel Partner Management: Manage MP HRs corporate channel partners and establish new partnerships with Banks, CPAs, Financial Advisors, etc.

Sales Engagement: Conduct needs assessments with prospects, deliver tailored payroll solution presentations, and lead negotiations to close deals. Establish and build relationships with key decision-makers.

Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with key clients to drive long-term success. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through ongoing support and periodic check-ins.

Solution Selling: Position and sell payroll software, compliance solutions, and related services, understanding the unique needs of each client and customizing offerings to align with their goals.

Sales Strategy & Execution:

Market Analysis: Continuously evaluate the SMB payroll market, identify trends, and develop actionable insights. Use data and feedback to refine sales approaches and product offerings.

Sales Process Optimization: Standardize sales processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure the team follows best practices in lead qualification, proposal creation, closing strategies, and post-sale handoff.

Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with the marketing, customer success, and product teams to ensure alignment and to provide feedback that drives product enhancements and marketing strategies.

Reporting & Analytics:

Sales Forecasting: Develop accurate sales forecasts, set performance metrics, and measure team progress against targets. Report on team performance, pipeline health, and deal progress to senior leadership.

CRM Management: Ensure CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system is updated regularly with accurate lead, opportunity, and sales activity data. Use the CRM to track team performance and pipeline metrics.

WHO YOU ARE:

Experience: 5+ years in sales, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role in the payroll, HR tech, or SaaS industry, particularly serving SMB clients. A proven track record in both sales management and direct selling is essential.

Sales Expertise: Strong understanding of payroll solutions, SaaS products, and HR technology. Demonstrated success in closing complex deals and managing long sales cycles.

Leadership & Team Management: Experience in managing a sales team, mentoring sales reps, setting clear expectations, and driving results.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present payroll solutions to prospective clients and influence key decision-makers.

Goal-Oriented: Results-driven with a focus on hitting or exceeding sales targets. Strong business acumen and the ability to close deals and generate revenue quickly.

CRM Proficiency: Solid experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage leads, opportunities, and reporting.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is preferred but not required based on experience.
