Job Description

The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for communications and relationships with customers, and is well versed in answering customer questions and resolving issues. The Inside Sales Specialist works with internal departments to facilitate quote development, communicate expedite requests to the Rippy team and customer, acknowledge purchase orders, support customer inquiries and any special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Review RFQ’s, prepare quotations and provide to customers and prospects within company timeframe requirements.

· Understand customer needs, interpret technical requirements and provide technical information when preparing quotes.

· Negotiate with customers on pricing and delivery within company guidelines and management review.

· Communicate with customers/potential customers, identify sales opportunities and follow up on leads.

· Develop accounts by checking customer’s buying history, suggesting new orders, related and new items, explaining technical features.

· Process expedite requests, RMAs and update customers on order status.

· Provide customer service and follow up with customers and prospects in a timely manner via different means of communication that may include email, telephone, conference calls, chat or face to face interaction.

· Review and transfer purchase orders to Order Processing in preparation for Contract Review meeting.

· Acknowledge all orders.

· Work with Production in monitoring production runs on quoted orders as well as checking inventory on in stock parts.

· Analyze questions or complaints from customers and propose/provide adequate responses or resolution in a timely fashion.

· Act as a liaison between customers and management in order to enhance the overall customer experience.

· Build and maintain customer relationships to enhance the rapport between customers and Fred R. Rippy.

· Act as a backup for Order Processing, Purchasing and Planning.

· Attend and participate in meetings, such as Production Meetings, Contract Reviews, customer calls, etc.

· Advocate for our customers while also representing Fred R. Rippy with integrity.

· Maintain and follow Customer Service department procedures, Work Instructions and QMS documentation in compliance with AS9100.

· Read, analyze and interpret customer supplied prints, technical procedures, or government regulations.

· Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.

· Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

o High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Business or similar field is a plus.

o Familiarity with the requirements of AS9100 and ISO9000.

o Minimum of 3-5 years customer service or inside sales experience in an Aerospace or similarly heavily regulated industrial job shop environment.

LANGUAGE AND OTHER SKILLS:

o Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

o Exceptional customer service (phone & email) and organizational skills (multitasking, etc.).

o Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

o Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, margins, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

o Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

  • Experience with Global Shop Solutions or similar ERP systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Excel Word and Outlook.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety to instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
