Description of Job
The Variable Data Design Specialist designs, constructs and maintains variable data templates using variable data programming software. Constructs templates based on customer requirements using a variety of scripting languages for data triggers, sample data and data headers.
A summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Variable Data Design - Using various software applications, the Variable Data Design Specialist supports the Variable Data Design Lead in designing, constructing and maintaining variable data templates used by networked software to capture print data, input product information, and to maintain accurate transaction records for billing. The VDD Specialist uses variable data design software functions to create and edit files for final submission of published job orders. File work includes preparing files for mail sorting, numbering, and other required processes, then merging variable data files with finished printing files. Uses computerized commands to load and match paper, color, size, weight and other visual job features according to production job orders.
Client Service Support - Collaborating closely with IDS Client Relations Team Account Manager teammates, the VDD Specialist works to ensure accurate receipt of client job order files and to provide client assistance with print stream protocol, variable data capabilities and variable data programming. This position provides client assistance with print stream protocol, variable data capabilities and variable data programming. The VDD Specialists analyzes and optimizes client supplied data for variable jobs, and works with Client Relations Account Managers to ensure accurate alignment on job prioritization. Ensures and validates that all set-up information is accurately logged. Collaborates with Account Managers in responding to client questions regarding job/print status, equipment malfunctions, variable data workflows and data formatting issues. Ensure production logs are completed and accurate.
Application and Production Support - Diagnose and prioritize problems and take proper actions to quickly resolve issues affecting the timely printing of on-line files. Determine if problem is hardware or software and take actions necessary to regain connectivity. If unable
to resolve quickly, contact application support group and coordinate problem solutions. Document all issues affecting production processing, corrective actions taken to resume production. Lead efforts with application software vendors and state of Colorado (SOC)
OIT software technicians to ensure appropriate actions are documented and implemented to prevent the issue from repeating.
Store Front Administration - This position supports uploading and maintaining items in the IDS Store Front as well as processing all orders in the IDS Store Front.
