The Dealer Sales Manager Central Position

Sunnova Energy is looking for an Dealer Sales Manager to manage dealers in the Central region of the US. The Dealer Sales Manager (DSM) leads our team to have successful relationships with our dealers in order to drive wallet share of Sunnova products. As the primary point of contact for their assigned dealers, the DSM drives revenue for our business by growing the use of Sunnova products with our dealers through product and process training, deploying sales strategies to grow wallet share and new market entry. The DSM is to also participate in the joint development of marketing and sales strategies and work with the dealers to drive operational efficiencies to ensure smooth process flow from origination to inservice of PV and PV+Storage systems and other Sunnova products. Dealer Sales Manager Responsibilities

  • Manages an assigned portfolio of accounts and is responsible for growing wallet share with those accounts
  • Drives operational efficiencies within the assigned accounts to ensure Sunnova processes and practices are deployed properly
  • Helps define dealer’s quarterly and annual sales goals; insures performance toward the goals
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves dealer issues using analytical skills and Salesforce Client Relationship Management
  • In conjunction with the Learning and Development Team delivers training and effective coaching to Dealer Sales, Operations and Executive leadership
  • Monitors progression of systems from origination to in service and collaborates with Dealer Support, QA/QC and the In service team to troubleshoot issues; intervene and drive results through influencing dealer behaviors.
  • Assist dealers with new market entry strategy by providing market data, pricing and competitive information
  • Negotiates volume or exclusivity agreements with dealers to grow wallet share
  • Assists Dealer Business Development team with on boarding new dealers and ensuring their success.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with some quantitative studies; Business, Marketing, or Finance preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales, account management, or related role
  • 2+ years of routine use of Excel for analysis, and graphically communicating insights regarding data
  • Must be located in Central United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in residential solar sales, insurance sales, generator sales or home improvement
  • Salesforce software experience

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to create relationships with outside partners to effectively influence behavior required.
  • Ability to present and train in front of groups up to 50 people
  • Strong, balanced business acumen across sales, operations and finance. Very strong negotiating, organization and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to adapt and work in an open, fast-paced and collaborative environment, both in-office and remotely required
  • Team player that behaves ethically, with highest degree of integrity at all times
  • Strong computer skills; including Microsoft, Office Suite, and CRM
  • Proven use of analytical skills with understanding of financial concepts (IRR, ROI, etc.)
  • Ability to make insightful and relevant recommendations based on findings from data analytics; capable to gain command of data regarding assigned partners and workflow

Working Conditions

  • Minimum 50% Travel Time required
  • Remote office environment with travel to onsite Dealer locations.
