Tax Associate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience specifically in sales tax consulting
- A deep understanding of multi-state sales tax regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong capabilities in VLookups and pivot tables
- Demonstrated experience with Avalara and a thorough understanding of Sales Tax Nexus;familiarity with other tax software is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to team members and eventually to clients
- Proactive and organized professional who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Tax Associate Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions and ensure timely compliance
- Engage in sales tax consulting projects, gradually increasing client interaction and account management responsibilities under the guidance of senior managers
- Utilize various tax software systems (e.G., Avalara, QuickBooks, NetSuite) to process data and generate reports
- Collaborate with team members via digital communication tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams to ensure cohesive project management and client service
