Position: Account Manager (Inside Sales)

Or client, a leader in the Canadian food marketplace is seeking an experienced and dynamic Account Manager to join their team located in Mississauga to support their continued sales growth. The Account Manager will oversee a designated portfolio of clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction, while also driving new customer acquisitions within their territory. As part of a results-driven sales team, the Account Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
-Increase sales within an existing client base and develop new clients in the assigned territory, focusing primarily on research and development departments.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of the product lines we represent to effectively present and promote them to clients.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to foster long-term client relationships and fuel sales growth.
- Manage various innovation projects and oversee the delivery of samples to meet customer requirements and align with their vision.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with customers to identify new sales opportunities and increase revenue.
- Stay informed of market trends and competitive landscape, sharing insights with the sales team.
- Maintain detailed activity reports and manage relevant information effectively.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree required (a degree in Food Science is a plus).
- 3-5 years of experience in selling ingredients (not consumer food products).
- Solid technical understanding of ingredients to support clients in product development.
- Proven ability to develop new business and manage customer relationships.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail, especially in managing technical documentation.
- Business acumen, creativity, and a high aptitude for technical learning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to build and nurture business relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
- Ability to attend out-of-town trade shows as needed.
- Commitment to working in accordance with BRC corporate standards.
