Position Summary:

The Senior Sales Consultant is a salaried and commission based, direct sales position, responsible for identifying, contacting, and closing prospects. Along with community marketing and strategic insight, the Senior Sales Consultant directly drives top-line revenue and is expected to exceed quarterly goals. They make initial contact with physicians and other clinicians, build relationships, and successfully see them through their test-taking, onboarding, and transitional phases while coordinating closely with our operations team. From recruiting physicians who are seeking to become Qualified Medical Evaluators (QMEs), to converting existing QMEs to MDpanel, the Senior QME Sales Consultant is responsible for the sales cycle from beginning to end. The role includes collaboration with our non-QME service line team in growing other business lines, including in Agreed Medical Evaluation (AME), Fitness for Duty (FFD), and Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) in California and nation-wide. Therefore, effective communication with attorneys and insurance adjusters is an additional aspect of this dynamic position.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Sales Consultant is responsible for responding to inbound requests and cold-calling prospects (primarily physicians). The primary goals are to expand our network of providers and to drive QME/IME volume and revenue, while building our brand reputation and presence. As a Senior Sales Consultant, you are responsible for providing doctors a significant and potentially life-improving revenue opportunity. Since MDpanel offers training to become a QME and handles all the administrative aspects of such work for new and existing QMEs, including billing, scheduling, and office locations, your sales activities in attracting doctors to partner with us will have a real impact on doctors actualizing their goals and ultimately improving their lifestyles.


  • Identify, qualify, and close new sales opportunities daily through multiple mediums (email, phone, virtual, events, inbound leads, and more)
  • Host and participate in a variety of events, trade shows, educational presentations, and dinners
  • Planning schedule around bi-annual test-taking cycles and other events determined by the Department of Workers Comp (DWC)
  • Attending and setting up booths at conferences and events.
  • Weekly meetings with VP of Recruitment and Marketing
  • Engaging attorneys and insurance adjusters
  • Willingness to collaborate with other leaders to help close deals when advisable
  • Report goals, pipeline with VP of Recruitment and Marketing
  • Accurate submission of data required for reporting and timely submission of packets
  • Tracking of onboarding and credentialing packets with operations team
  • Advising and suggesting best practices for all sales related processes
  • Prospecting existing MDpanel QMEs for more locations and other recruits
  • Collaborating and training with non-QME business team to drive other service line revenue
  • Advise leadership team of opportunities
  • Familiarization with the Department of Workers Compensation (DWC) and changing regulations in California.
  • Assist with new physician on-boarding and credentialing
  • Create and maintain relationships with physicians and their support staff
  • Develop and execute on annual sales strategy, targets and tactics.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail managing all respective sales activities (notes, follow-ups, emails, call logs) within CRM
  • Respond to incoming email, web or phone inquiries
  • Conduct sales presentations remotely and/or in-person.
  • Participate in weekly pipeline reviews and status reports to senior management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in any field of study with 5+ years of sales, marketing and/or recruitment experience, especially within healthcare and/or the workers comp or med-legal space.
  • Digital literacy and device proficiency; ability to work effectively across multiple platforms and digital tools such as SalesForce, Google Suite, and more
  • Organized, timely, and communicative with customers and internal team members
  • Possess a collaborative spirit; our work is inherently team bound and interdependent!
  • Willingness to attend and run booths/kiosks at conferences (3-5 times per year)
  • Great written, oral and communication skills
  • Confidence speaking with physicians and attorneys
  • Ability to recruit physicians and close more challenging deals
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines; ours is a time-line driven business
  • Ability to listen, problem solve, trouble-shoot and serve client needs
  • Solution-focused with an ability to think innovatively.
  • Meticulous in catching and correcting errors; our work is inherently detail-oriented
  • Ability to complete some administrative tasks and coordinate various projects timely and accurately
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced and challenging growth-oriented work environment
  • Ability to switch tasks and foci quickly, sharp and trainable
  • Willingness to ask for help when needed
  • Experience with high-volume prospecting through email marketing and cold calling to physician offices.
  • Ability to clearly articulate a value proposition
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Ability to effectively present information in small and large groups
  • Extremely organized and goal driven
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field
  • Knowledge of California State Workers Compensation
  • Knowledge of business and marketing
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Desire to work within the healthcare arena
  • Spanish proficiency a big plus
  • Physician recruiting and physician liaison experience is a huge plus; however, we would on rare occasions consider the compelling highly motivated applicant who does not have direct experience recruiting or selling to physicians, but displays high promise based on other qualifications and transferable experiences.
