WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The Lead Estimator, based at our Granite Bay operation, is a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer support. You will be working in a dynamic team environment in a modern, clean office. The position generates and presents accurate and complete cost/price models to the management team and distributes proposals to existing and potential customers. The Lead Estimator is a source of knowledge and support to the sales staff regarding pricing and manufacturing capabilities.


Salary Range: $77,000 to $100,000


Reporting to our Sales Manager, you’ll work with the sales, engineering and production team.


A highlight of your day to day will include:


  • Product Cost and Price Analysis Reviews product/structure design and creates a cost model and price strategy for new and project specific applications. Investigates requirements regarding materials, production efforts, tooling, and freight required to provide the best possible product solution(s). Creates and presents solution options to management team, sales representatives, and customers in a professional and highly organized manner. Functions as a source of experience and expertise regarding cost models, pricing strategies, manufacturing capabilities and product design capabilities and solutions.
  • Bid Prospecting/Take-offs - Reviews bid documents to determine scope of work and required precast concrete products for large, complex, and/or custom construction projects. Generates a complete and accurate bidders list by reviewing project sign-in sheets, plan room sources, and industry contacts. Ensures drawings, plans, specifications, and any data are accurate prior to cost estimating through customer communication and engineering. Calculates and prepares material and work item quantities based on project requirements.
  • Customer Service Provides a high-level of customer service with regards to all customer contacts and communication. Responds to customer inquiries in a timely, professional, and positive manner that meets or exceeds company customer service level requirements. Strives to communicate as a supportive source of knowledge within the industry.
  • Proposal Presentation and Distribution Prepares accurate and complete proposals utilizing the CRM/CPQ system. Proposals are presented in an effective, clear, and professionally presentable manner with the customers requirements in mind. Distributes proposals to bidders in an efficient and effective manner. Strives to meet or exceed customer response expectations. Bids are accompanied by any additional product or precast information such as; product drawings, specifications, brochures, etc., when available.
  • Team Lead Acts as a team leader and assists management with training and guidance of other sales team members. Supports and motivates team to meet targets and service levels. Leads by example and demonstrates a highly professional and positive attitude along with exemplary customer service skills.


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You’re enthusiastic and motivated in a fast-paced environment. You have demonstrated knowledge of estimating practices and a commitment to customer service. You’re a lifelong learner with a combination of formal education (Bachelor’s degree – Engineering or Construction Management preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of solid on-the-job experience including database administration and computer programs related to sales and customer service.
