Sales Executive – Picketa Systems

Company Overview: Picketa Systems Inc., founded in 2020, is an agricultural technology company based in Atlantic Canada, dedicated to supporting agriculture in its fertilizer decisions. Our focus is on providing real-time plant tissue analysis to growers and agri-businesses, allowing them to analyze nutrients in their crops quickly and independently. Picketa introduced LENS, a portable plant analysis tool designed to modernize traditional approaches to nutrient analysis. LENS works seamlessly alongside the web application, Fieldbook, displaying plant sample analysis results in real time. With the ability to measure the concentrations of key macro and micronutrients in plant tissue, growers and agribusinesses can make informed decisions for precise nutrient management. Picketa Systems is looking for a tenacious, confident, and fast-thinking individual to join our collaborative team. As Picketa’s first Sales Executive, you will be responsible for the sales cycle, including generating leads, closing sales, and managing accounts.

Position: Sales Executive (Full Time)
Salary Range: $60,000 - $100,000 (base + commission)
Expected Start Date: July 15th, 2024
Location: Hybrid
Office Location: Fredericton, NB, Canada

About the Role: As a Sales Executive at Picketa Systems, you’ll work directly with the VP of Sales and the executives to grow the company’s revenue. Your primary responsibilities will be tied to the widespread commercialization of Picketa’s technology. We are looking for someone to help us build the sales strategy and implement it in real time. You'll play a crucial role in growing the company’s revenue and fostering strong relationships with our clients while ensuring their success with our solutions. You'll drive growth and become the main point of contact for assigned accounts, guiding them through onboarding and providing ongoing support to maximize satisfaction and retention. Your work will directly impact the development of our technology, advocating for the user’s vision. Responsibilities:
  • Generate, qualify, and close leads.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with assigned accounts, serving as their trusted advisor and champion within the company.
  • Attend tradeshows and industry events.
  • Understand client objectives and needs, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our services and deliver value.
  • Lead clients through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition and providing training on product features and best practices.
  • Monitor account performance and health metrics, identifying areas for upselling, improvement, and taking proactive steps to address challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to provide exceptional customer service and support.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and market developments, leveraging insights to inform client strategies and drive growth.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in business and sales development required, preferably in a Hardware Enabled SaaS and B2B environment.
  • Previous experience building and managing enterprise sales cycles for high-ticket items.
  • Previous experience in account management and customer success are considered assets.
  • Previous experience and interest in the agricultural industry are considered assets.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues of all levels.
  • Proactive and results-driven, with a proven track record of exceeding targets and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Technical proficiency, able to quickly learn and explain complicated product features and benefits to clients in simple terms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
