Position Summary
The Sales Director – Design & Construction will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to generate new business, expand our market presence, and build enduring client relationships. Reporting to the executive leadership team, this individual will collaborate closely with design, project management, and marketing teams to drive revenue growth and uphold Open Range’s reputation for exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Identify new market opportunities, segments, and partnerships to expand Open Range’s client base.
- Manage the sales pipeline, from prospecting and lead qualification through to contract negotiation and closing.
Client Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, developers, architects, and other industry partners.
- Conduct high-level presentations and pitches to C-suite executives, property owners, and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
- Work closely with the design and project management teams to align sales opportunities with technical capabilities and resource availability.
- Partner with marketing to develop targeted campaigns, proposals, and case studies that showcase Open Range’s design and construction expertise.
- Provide feedback on client needs and market trends to inform new product or service offerings.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging market demands in design and construction.
- Translate market insights into actionable strategies that position Open Range as an industry leader.
- Maintain a clear understanding of regional building codes, construction regulations, and sustainability standards that may impact sales opportunities.
Reporting & Forecasting
- Track and report on key sales metrics, including pipeline status, revenue forecasts, and sales performance against targets.
- Present regular updates and insights to executive leadership, recommending adjustments to sales strategies as needed.
- Ensure data integrity within the CRM system, maintaining accurate records of leads, proposals, and closed deals.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- 5+ years of proven sales leadership experience, ideally within design, construction, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and leading high-performing sales teams.
CRM Proficiency
- At least 5 years of experience working with a CRM platform (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho CRM, or Pipedrive).
- Proven ability to leverage CRM data and tools to optimize the sales pipeline, forecasting, and performance metrics.
Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of design/build processes, construction methodologies, and architectural considerations.
- Familiarity with design and construction regulations, building codes, and sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED).
Leadership & Communication
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate sales teams to achieve ambitious targets.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with diverse clients and industry professionals.
Strategic & Analytical Thinking
- Skilled in market analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and aligning sales strategy with company objectives.
- Proficient with CRM systems and data-driven approaches to pipeline management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
