While tax season is winding down, our hiring is just getting started! We have a unique opportunity for someone who has tax experience who wants to make a career change but keep using the knowledge and skills that they learned.

We are looking for a tax preparer who would like to make the career change to customer success and is looking for remote work. If this catches your interest, keep reading.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years experience working at either a big 4 or mid-size regional accounting firm with tax, S-Corp, payroll filings experience plus business acumen. They would also have business development or customer experience while having done tax work. This person is customer forward and will own the communication process from post sell to when they get passed on to the team for services to be rendered. You will act as the account manager and provide the true onboarding experience that a client needs to be successful. CRM experience, especially using hubspot and taxdome is preferred. Pay is commensurate based on experience and knowledge. You will work with Tanya Thirlwall directly on fine-tuning this role since it is the first for the company.

The company is Duke Tax — a 100% remote company that will always stay remote. HQ is based in Dallas and working central business hours are required, but we do provide flexibility in your schedule. The team consists of 17, with the majority choosing to be contractors and only 5 employees. You are given the option to select which works best for you. Pay is hourly. Interview process: You interview with Tanya first, roughly 20-30 minute conversation, if it works well and mutually decide to move forward, the following step would be in giving you an assessment test that lasts about 15–20 mins. There is a window of 5 days for you to complete it. If the score is within the range we are looking for and all other factors that are monitored while taking the assessment, you are moved up to an interview with the CEO and one other member of the team. We then take 2-3 business days to decide and get back to you. That quick and that simple.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
