PVM, Inc. is seeking an experienced Ontology Solutions Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities, including evaluating customer requirements, crafting ontology models, collaborating with the solutions architect, and creating compelling demonstrations to showcase our product's alignment with specific customer needs. In this position, you will be ensuring the reliability of mission-critical systems for customers that have a meaningful impact in U.S. maritime operations and you will be using your engineering skills to provide creative solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly analyze and interpret customer requirements to extract essential elements necessary for building ontology models and developing tailored solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive ontology models by structuring information, organizing data, and implementing specialized frameworks or standards aligned with customer use cases.
  • Work closely with the solutions architect to translate customer requirements into functional prototypes and demos that highlight our product's suitability for addressing customer needs.
  • Leverage ontology models and customer insights to create prototype solutions, demonstrating how our product meets and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Conduct polished and customized demonstrations that vividly showcase the product's features, capabilities, and benefits, emphasizing its relevance to the customer's unique requirements.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the product's technical aspects to effectively communicate its functionalities and advantages during demonstrations.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand evolving needs, and refine demonstrations or prototypes accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance
  • 5+ years of experience in ontology modeling, information structuring, or similar roles focused on data organization and analysis.

Education:

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience

Tools & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of ontology modeling frameworks, standards, and methodologies.
  • Technical proficiency in tools and technologies relevant to ontology modeling and solution demonstrations such as Protégé, TopBraid Composer, and PoolParty Semantic Suite
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating impactful demonstrations or prototypes showcasing product capabilities.
  • Experience with technologies such as RDF (Resource Description Framework), OWL (Web Ontology Language), SPARQL (SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language), and others are crucial for building ontology models.
  • Knowledge of tools that assist in integrating and managing structured data, such as data integration platforms or ETL (Extract, Transform, Load).

  • Ability to articulate complex matters in concise oral and written form in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Problem-solving skills.
  • Self-Starter with strong investigative skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Positive demeanor, accountable and responsible and able to work in a team-focused, dynamic environment.
  • Interpersonal skills for reaching out & managing coordination across multiple disciplines.

Salary: $123,000- $145,000
