Purpose of the Role:

Memphis Vitality Hotel  is looking for an experienced, organized and confident Corporate Group & Business Travel Sales Manager to join our team with energy and enthusiasm. The Corporate Group & Business Travel Sales Manager is responsible for growing business in the corporate, local negotiated, Consortia and government transient and group travel segments.T he selected individual strives to continually improve guest satisfaction and hit targets to drive revenue outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops Corporate Transient Market Segments: Fully cultivate the LNR, ESP, Consortia, and Government market segments to achieve room night and revenue goals
  • Effectively attains assigned sales and revenue goals as well as solicitation call goals.
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls conduct sales tours and entertain clients specific to Corporate Group/Business Travel (BT)
  • Develops and grows new and existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to Corporate Group/Business Travel (BT)
  • Monitors and evaluate trends within your market segment
  • Maintains strong visibility in local community and industry organizations as applicable
  • May assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments i.e. sales blitzes etc.
  • Market Analysis: Keeps abreast of industry trends and local competition to stay competitive and identify opportunities for business growth
  • Handles annual RFP season negotiations and annual contract renewals

Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience in Corporate / Corporate Group and Business Travel Sales
  • Memphis area Market knowledge
  • Knowledge of Agency360, STR, and other industry reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication
  • Professional and ethical
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Quick learner and hard worker
  • Team player and ability to get along with others.
  • Available to meet guests which may include weekends
  • Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)

Able to speak and hear. Close and distance vision. Excessive walking. Frequently lifts/carries up to 25lbs. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Continually works in normal office conditions and in close proximity to others. Additional physical, visual requirements and working conditions may include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work day shift with varying schedule from week to week
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Walk extended distances
  • Lift, push, pull, carry 25lbs.
  • May come in contact with fumes or airborne particles
  • May be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related combined experience and training equivalent
  • 4 years related hotel business travel sales experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work day shift with ability to work nights as needed
  • Able to work in person at Memphis location

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
