The Job Overview

We are seeking a janitorial account manager to join our team. You will be in charge of managing the day-to-day operations for the customer(s) portfolio. Account manager duties will include time clock system management, training new employees, site inspections, customer facing, recognizing new opportunities with existing customers and potential new customers, providing progressive discipline (with the guidance of HR), helping cover shifts periodically and helping with projects.

A successful account manager should have excellent communication and relationship-building skills as well as the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

Below are some responsibilities that account managers are expected to assume:

· Plan, execute, and manage client accounts and projects.

· Coordinate, communicate and enforce operational processes and policies between hourly staff, office staff and management staff.

· Collaborate with clients to determine service requirements.

· Develop project plans to meet client goals and objectives.

· Build relationships with clients to ensure brand and project success.

· Create a pleasant experience for clients by coordinating with the Director of Operations to provide solutions.

· Provide regular updates, respond to inquiries, and address any client concerns in a timely manner.

· Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain accurate books and records.

· Assist with coordinating all contract billing aspects which include reviewing timekeeping records, (working with Payroll) and reviewing monthly invoices for fixed fees, cost plus and consumable billings.

· Train and supervise the custodial staff to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation.

· Maintain stock and replenish supplies, provide tools and equipment required to perform required maintenance.

· Must be able to work flexible hours based upon job demands.

· Coordinate and facilitate regular client meetings.

· Monitor and manage project performance.

· Oversee the development of new client relationships.

· Ensure client satisfaction and retention.

· Attend training classes on cleaning processes and techniques to become familiar with the industry.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

Below are the qualifications expected of an account manager:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an account manager in the service industry.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent technical and communication skills
  • Experience using administrative systems (i.e. payroll, work order, and time keeping systems).
  • Experience creating detailed reports.
  • Competency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
