Director of Sales & Operations
Location: Livermore, California

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Job Summary:
The Director of Sales & Operations at SMW 104 FCU will be pivotal in overseeing and optimizing sales processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory, BSA, and OFAC requirements, and driving operational efficiency. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in sales operations, compliance management, and financial services.
Responsibilities:
1. Sales Management:
· Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives.
· Lead and mentor the sales operations team to drive performance, productivity, and accountability.
· Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance the overall customer experience.
· Utilize tools and systems to track sales performance, forecast trends, and generate actionable insights.
2. Operations and Compliance Oversight:
· Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and industry standards, including but not limited to banking regulations, BSA, OFAC, consumer protection laws, and compliance frameworks.
· Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate compliance risks and uphold the integrity of operations.
· Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
· Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance matters, fostering a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory awareness.
Stay informed about legislation and industry best practices changes, and proactively adjust compliance strategies as needed.
3. Strategic Planning and Execution:
· Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic objectives and align sales operations and compliance initiatives with organizational goals.
· Participate in developing annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans, ensuring alignment with financial targets and operational priorities.
· Identify process improvement, automation, and technology adoption opportunities to drive operational efficiency and scalability.
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sales and compliance initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
4. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
· Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales teams, executive leadership, and support functions, to foster collaboration and alignment.
· Represent the organization externally with NCUA, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders, advocating for the credit union’s interests and promoting a positive reputation.
· Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates on sales performance, compliance status, and operational initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Strong understanding of sales processes and sales performance metrics.
· Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in management, sales, and operations, within the financial services industry, preferably in a credit union or banking environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field; or professional certifications (e.g., CAMS) preferred.
· Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to financial institutions, including but not limited to consumer lending, deposit operations, and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and motivate teams, drive change, and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a demonstrated track record of driving results and achieving business objectives.
· Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence outcomes.
· Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively, anticipate future trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
