JOB OVERVIEW:
The Director of Sales is primarily responsible for leading & driving top line revenue strategy for group rooms and event sales. The individual is additionally responsible for staying ahead of market trends, market share movement and ongoing competitive hotel analysis. The Director of Sales is also responsible for developing and implementing a marketing communications plan designed to achieve the desired positioning for the hotel, as well as managing the sales and marketing budget that supports revenue attainment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Develop, implement, and monitor The LaFayette’s Sales and Marketing plan.
- Direct sales, catering, and revenue optimization efforts for the hotel.
- Projects a positive image of the hotel and ownership in the market and engages in community building within the North Park and San Diego communities.
- Develop a sales pipeline for key market segments as identified in the Sales and Marketing Plan.
- Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring, and controlling the hotel’s annual sales and marketing budget .
- Develops and implements a marketing communications plan designed to achieve the desired positioning of the hotel and drive direct bookings
- Continually review digital presence to maintain relevant content and consistent brand identity across all platforms including social channels, meta search platforms and the hotel website.
- Prepare and review revenue forecasts on a monthly basis in collaboration with the property General Manager .
- Collects and analyzes marketing data to determine hotel’s position within the marketplace and takes responsibility for developing and implementing offerings and promotions and sourcing partnerships aligned with CH standards and guidelines.
- Maintains timely and effective communication with all hotel departments.
- Performs all other related duties/projects/reports as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or other related field
- Experience as a sales leader, with prior hotel sales experience.
- Experience in an Independent or ‘Lifestyle’ hotel is preferred
- Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.
- Well rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources, as well as ability to develop a strategic plan for each.
- Understanding of digital marketing and the ability to review strategy and performance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate & drive a direct sales team
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
