MANAGER MORTGAGE BANKING

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Lead the U.S. mortgage and home equity businesses for CNB and RBC including national sales, operations, secondary/capital markets, servicing and across retail, correspondent and consumer direct channels. Accountable for driving P&L growth and balance sheet optimization, significantly improving compliance and risk management, and leading the construction of the technology stack, while ramping CRA/Fair Lending initiatives, salable secondary markets production and reimagining the customer experience aligned with the brands and organizational culture.

What you will do
  • Lead an Inside Sales team that supports 5 internal lines of business – CNB Entertainment, Private Banking and PBB, along with RBC Wealth and RBC Bank.
  • Manage an efficient and highly automated Operations team composed of mortgage processing, underwriting, closing, post close/QC and other support functions for both portfolio and salable loan production.
  • Build and scale the following new sales channels: a Retail channel sales force across all Bank markets, a centralized Consumer Direct sales team, and a Correspondent Lending division.
  • Oversee development, pricing and management of mortgage and residential lending products
  • In collaboration with Information Technology, determine the automation needs and oversee selection, design and implementation of new loan origination system components
  • Oversee the sale of loans into the secondary market and the management of mortgage servicing rights
  • In collaboration with Credit, monitor and manage the overall credit quality of the mortgage banking portfolio
  • Create and execute the annual strategy and budget
  • Monitor mortgage loan servicing processes and any coordination necessary with outsourced servicing providers
  • Develop and execute client satisfaction measurement protocols, tracking and reporting to all internal and external stakeholders and regulators as appropriate
  • Attract, retain and develop talent including hiring, performance evaluations and compensation decisions
Must-Have*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 15+ years of senior management experience in the mortgage banking industry with strong aptitude for mortgage sales, operations, secondary marketing, CRA/Fair Lending and wealth management banking.
  • 10+ years of senior management experience with a focus on setting and exceeding goals and performance objectives
  • Experience with U.S. and Canadian prudential regulators specific to mortgage banking
Skills and Knowledge
  • Deep understanding of mortgage banking processes and functions with a mindset of continuous process improvement
  • Strong leadership abilities and strategic management skills
  • Proven history of achieving business results in a positive, results oriented, and “can-do” culture
  • Successful track record in hiring, developing and raising the performance of a team with a coaching and partnering mentality
  • Ability to establish priorities and to build a culture of accountability and ownership on the team for high levels of performance across all market cycles
  • Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly effective in developing and maintaining peer and executive-level relationships
  • Master’s in Business, preferred
Compensation
Starting base salary: $0 - $0 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
