Area Sales Manager

Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible schedule or work additional hours outside of regular business hours to better serve the external and internal client.
- Ability to travel for trade shows.
- Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong prospecting and contract negotiation skills required.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Effective communication between all hotel departments regarding pertinent booking information to ensure professional guest servicing.
- Ability to utilize a computer system.
- Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Targets group business within the SMERFS markets—social, military, educational, religious, fraternal, and sports—to meet or surpass annual guestroom revenue goals.
- Eligible for up to a 25% sales bonus, contingent upon meeting multiple layers of performance criteria.
- Conducts personal sales and phone calls through account development and maintenance to achieve or exceed sales goals.
- Conducts site inspections with prospective clients.
- Coordinates and financially manages sales trips, conventions, tradeshows to develop lead sources, rapport with clients, and build client base.
- Contacts by phone or in person, clients with hotel business potential and to keep accurate records of all sales calls.
- Handles all aspects of sales for all groups from various lead sources, ensuring a comprehensive approach to potential business.
- Engages in proactive follow-up with past clients and leads to foster long-term relationships and encourage repeat bookings.
- Prepares proposals and contracts for group business.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
