Alice & Smith Metalab specializes in LiveOps and systems integration services to help Clients architect, deploy, and maximize the value of XR Server and Playfab within their technology ecosystems.

To join our growing team, we are looking for a Senior Azure DevOps for our Montreal office. As a Senior Azure DevOps, you will be responsible for tasks such as managing CI/CD pipelines and optimizing systems.

You will serve as the right arm of the Cloud Architect & DevOps Lead, collaborating closely to ensure the successful execution of projects and the alignment of team efforts with strategic objectives.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in Azure DevOps and Linux SysAdmin, relevant certifications, proficiency in automation tools, and strong communication skills. Additionally, experience in team management, containerization, and configuration management is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps tools for efficient software deployment.
  • Administer and optimize Linux-based systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and application performance.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and/or Bicep for Azure resources.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in all aspects of Azure cloud and Linux administration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and optimize cloud-based applications for scalability and reliability.
  • Mentor the DevOps team, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting strategies, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a bridge between the DevOps Team and the Cloud Architect & DevOps Lead.

Requirements:

Technical skills:

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience, ideally with a solid combination of Azure DevOps expertise and Linux SysAdmin background.
  • Team Management (Leadership and/or Technical Lead, an asset).
  • Own Azure Certification(s) – Ideally (but not exhaustive):
  • - Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • - Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
  • - Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • - Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Proven experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps tools.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Terraform and Bicep/ARM templates for automating infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure services, including but not limited to virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
  • Expertise in administering Linux-based systems, with a focus on performance optimization, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash…) for automating routine tasks and creating efficient workflows.
  • Understanding of security best practices in Azure and the ability to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience in implementing monitoring solutions and diagnosing and resolving infrastructure and application issues.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Packer for automating image deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Ansible for configuration management.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, preferably Docker.

Soft skills:

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in cloud and DevOps.
  • Solid communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

  • French proficiency.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Solid experience as a DevOps Technical Lead.
  • Knowledge of event driven and API typologies and patterns.
  • Being physically in Montreal as a best option, Canada in the EST time zone at least.
