General Job Description / Purpose:


Reporting to the VP of Market Access, the Senior Director (“Sr. Dir.”) of Field Access and Reimbursement is the national lead for field based healthcare providers (“HCP”) and patient facing access and reimbursement efforts within the Market Access organization. This role is Dompé’s effort to deliver transformative solutions to support patient access to rhNGF (cenegermin-bkbj).

The employee in this role is responsible for leading front line leaders overseeing an established team of internal Patient Access Managers (“PAMs”), and plays a critical role in hiring, training, building and leading a new team of Field Reimbursement Managers (“FRMs”) at Dompé.

A successful Sr. Dir of Field Access and Reimbursement has the required qualifications and fulfills the Essential Functions compliantly, while working and collaborating effectively with multiple functions within Dompé (e.g. Program Design and Strategy, Hub Services, Marketing, Sales Leadership, Payer Teams, Trade, Legal and Compliance) and serving as a key member of the Market Access leadership team, bringing strategic vision while leading a best in class field access and reimbursement team that effectively addresses patient access barriers and delivers excellent patient and practice experiences.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads a group of frontline managers responsible for leading teams supporting multiple aspects of the patient journey
  • Leads, motivates, coaches, develops, and retains a diverse and talented team who are competent and skilled in the Dompé business, the healthcare marketplace, and in access & fulfillment
  • Builds, manages and leads a field reimbursement team responsible for addressing access barriers by strategically working with accounts to solve patient access issues
  • Leads and manages FRM team to provide proactive education on Dompé patient support services and tools
  • Partners with strategy team to support appropriate utilization of digital enrollment platforms to streamline user experience and gain efficiencies
  • Together with Marketing and Program Strategy contributes to the development of strategies, tactics, and messaging that will optimize the patient journey and deliver an excellent provider experience
  • Encourages team to work cross functionally to analyze reimbursement/access issues and act as the local access and reimbursement resource for internal partners
  • Collaborates with Field Sales leadership, National Account Manager leadership, Market Access Operations leadership and Commercial Strategy to support patient drug accessibility

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of pharma/biotech experience with a focus on patient and/or market access
  • At least 4 years of field access leadership experience
  • Ability to establish yourself as an influential thought leader on patient support services while navigating the organization and building collaborative relationships with other functional leaders
  • Launch experience building and leading field reimbursement teams with experience in sizing, targeting and customer segmentation
  • Deep understanding of field operations and the systems and infrastructure needed to support access roles to best meet the needs of patients and HCPs
  • Experience optimizing and educating on customer facing technology platforms
  • Deep understanding of the patient access landscape and grasp of the patient access journey in the specialty marketplace
  • Expertise within the pharmacy benefit landscape as well as expertise with buy and bill
  • Experience fostering collaborative and compliant environments with Hub operations teams and internal case management teams (vendor management a plus)
  • Diverse background in patient access leadership across different patient access functions
  • Ophthalmology market experience
  • Firm grasp of the compliance and regulatory environment
  • Comfortable creating presentations and delivering compelling messages to executive leadership
  • Experience with sizing and segmentation of field teams
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, anticipate changes in the marketplace, and be the voice of the patient and customer
  • Bachelor’s degree

Technical Requirements:
  • Deep knowledge and experience with Salesforce and CRM platforms
  • Understanding and experience with customer facing digital enrollment technology

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or master’s level degree a plus
  • Specialty pharmacy and trade experience a plus
  • Ophthalmology anterior segment market experience a plus
  • Optometry experience a plus

$230,000 - $270,000 a year
At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
