Job Description

The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing the sales and activation efforts across multiple revenue streams, including sponsorships, in-game activations, ticket sales, season ticket and group sales. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive revenue growth while also providing support to the Vice President of Operations in managing day-to-day business operations, including concessions, game-day promotions, ancillary events, and other duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Generation:
  • Lead and manage the sponsorship sales team, ensuring the successful identification, acquisition, and retention of corporate sponsors.
  • Develop and execute strategies for in-game activations that maximize fan engagement and brand exposure for sponsors.
  • Responsible for all collections
  • Oversee the growth of all ticket sales
  • Oversee the season ticket sales program, developing targeted campaigns to drive ticket sales and renewals.
  • Manage the group sales program, ensuring the development of attractive packages and successful execution of group experiences.
  • Increase ancillary event revenue, such as as concerts, sporting events to be held at the ice box.
Business Operations Support:
  • Assist the Vice President of Operations with day-to-day management of business operations related to concessions, ensuring efficient service and maximization of revenue.
  • Collaborate on the planning and execution of game-day promotions, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and fan engagement strategies.
  • Provide support in coordinating and executing ancillary events such as fan festivals, charity events, and VIP experiences.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between departments to ensure the successful delivery of all business operations.

Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, training, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration between the sales, operations, and marketing teams to ensure consistency in messaging, promotions, and fan experience.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each sales vertical, ensuring goals are met and exceeded.

Strategy & Reporting:
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Operations to develop strategic plans for sales, sponsorship, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, activation success, and operational issues to the executive team.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices, ensuring the organization remains competitive and innovative in sales and operations.

Additional Duties:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations or other executive team members.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, meetings, and conferences to build relationships and grow the brand’s visibility.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3 plus years of experience in sales, marketing, or operations, preferably in the sports, entertainment, or hospitality industries.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team management, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong experience in sponsorship sales, group sales, and ticket sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Working Conditions:
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during the season and special events.
  • Ability to travel as needed for meetings, events, and industry conferences.
