Responsibilities:
The Sales Manager - Distribution Channel for Hamilton’s Lab Products Division is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing distributor relationships, and achieving sales targets across the food, environmental, chemical, biotech, and pharma/biopharma markets. This position combines strategic sales management with distributor support, including pricing, promotions, training, and technical support, to ensure the success and growth of Hamilton products. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and strategic thinker, able to manage and support distribution partners, execute sales strategies, and engage with clients to expand market presence.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Strategic Sales and Distributor Management
    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Hamilton distribution partners.
    • Define and implement a distributor strategy to meet and exceed yearly growth targets.
    • Manage distribution partners by providing timely support in pricing, promotions, customer credit, and training.
    • Coordinate joint sales calls with distributors at key accounts nationally.
    • Identify new strategic partnerships to increase sales and grow market share.
  • Sales Strategy Execution and Performance Monitoring
    • Develop and implement a sales strategy that integrates both direct sales and distributor resources to meet business objectives.
    • Perform yearly business reviews with top distributors to set sales targets and provide marketing support.
    • Work through distribution partner account managers to ensure proper promotion of Hamilton products, driving higher sales volumes.
    • Monitor sales performance, analyze metrics, and make adjustments to improve results.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Management
    • Support direct sales teams in managing relationships with key customers and maximizing opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
    • Engage directly with strategic customers and stakeholders to strengthen relationships and identify new product development opportunities.
  • Training and Technical Support
    • Conduct onsite visits to distribution partners to provide training on selling Hamilton products and enhance product knowledge.
    • Offer ongoing technical support to distributors, ensuring issues are resolved promptly to prevent barriers to growth.
    • Assist in the introduction of new products to market, working closely with distribution partners.
  • Market Analysis and Competitive Insights
    • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies.
    • Develop territory and business plans in collaboration with senior management, ensuring alignment with overall sales goals.
  • Sales Administration and Reporting
    • Maintain CRM database with up-to-date contact information and communication logs.
    • Report on sales performance, providing updates to senior management and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
    • Oversee the Channel Sales budget, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to support team activities.
Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with distributors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively while traveling (at least 50% of the time).
  • Analytical skills to assess sales performance and market trends, with the ability to develop actionable insights.
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive business growth.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales process management.
Education/Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or engineering, from an accredited not-for-profit institution or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in sales management, with a proven track record of growing relationships and driving sales through distribution networks.
  • Previous experience in technical support, marketing, or sales, preferably in companies with products and markets comparable to Hamilton (Lab Products Division).
  • Experience with lab technologies such as fluid management, liquid dispensing, lab accessories, and HPLC columns is preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead and grow distributor relationships, including resolving issues quickly to avoid barriers to growth.
