Summary
As a Key Account Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of SIG’s sales efforts, tasked with driving growth and deepening relationships across an established customer base while expanding into new business segments. Your role will be pivotal in achieving SIG’s sales targets by delivering strategic solutions, establishing robust client relationships, and enhancing our brand presence in the food and beverage packaging industry. Key responsibilities
Existing customers
  • Build & Strengthen Partnerships: Act as SIG’s primary commercial point of contact, developing long-term, trusted advisor relationships with assigned key customers and gaining deep insights into their business goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Technical Services) to ensure an integrated, seamless customer experience that meets and exceeds expectations.
  • Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to meet quarterly and annual targets, tracking metrics across volume, revenue, and gross profit for each account.
  • Proactive Opportunity Management: Identify and capitalize on business opportunities by promoting SIG’s full range of packaging materials, equipment, and solutions, enhancing account growth.
  • Contract & Pricing Management: Lead contract negotiations, set pricing strategies, and implement effective actions to achieve financial targets, fostering mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Customer Enablement: Provide ongoing support through phone, email, and in-person interactions, facilitating clients’ own sales development to optimize their usage of SIG’s products.
New Customers
  • Identify New Opportunities: Strategically research and prospect potential clients in the food and beverage sector, utilizing industry networks and SIG’s resources.
  • Engage & Persuade: Create compelling value propositions and deliver presentations that highlight SIG’s product and solution advantages tailored to client needs.
  • Event Engagement: Represent SIG at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to connect with potential clients, stay abreast of trends, and gather insights to inform SIG’s strategy.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development teams to craft persuasive proposals, leveraging the latest market trends and insights to differentiate SIG’s offerings.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Lead negotiations, close contracts, and oversee project implementations with new clients, maintaining a focus on relationship-building and long-term client value.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Regularly update progress reports in SIG’s CRM (Salesforce) and ensure accuracy in account data to aid in forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Market Insight & Competitor Analysis: Continuously monitor market conditions, competitive offerings, and customer environments to ensure proactive strategic adjustments.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage and optimize sales projections, delivering realistic yet ambitious targets for growth and client acquisition.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Present insights on market trends and account metrics to SIG’s senior management, actively contributing to strategic business planning and customer-centric solutions.

Ideal candidate key competencies
  • Strategic Partnership Building: Proven track record of developing partnerships in dynamic, competitive markets with large, complex clients.
  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, negotiating complex deals, and closing long sales cycles.
  • Adaptable Collaboration: Effective in a global team environment, able to work cross-functionally with technical and business teams.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of the food & beverage or packaging industry, with hands-on experience in SAP, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.

    You bring these skills, experience & education
    • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
    • Experience: 5+ years in B2B sales or business development, preferably within food & beverage or packaging sectors.
    • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of market dynamics, competitor landscape, and unique industry needs.
    • Travel Requirement: 60% domestic travel with occasional international engagements.
