The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the market Sales Manager in the achievement of the Market sales goals by coaching and developing Sales Consultants and ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Attain market sales and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor daily sales performances and make necessary adjustments to achieve sales budgets.
  • Assist with developing, planning, and preparation of training curriculum for sales meetings.
  • Conduct sales and training meetings with Sales Consultants.
  • Facilitate vendor, product, and installation training as required.
  • Assure accurate reporting and handling of Company leads through proper use of available intraday and daily reports.
  • Review and analyze individual Sales Consultants performance against metrics and stated goals, implement rewards and/or improvement plans as needed.
  • Conduct monthly 1-on-1 coaching sessions with consultants.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all company sales policies.
  • Ensure Sales Consultants capacity is sufficient to achieve Market demand.
  • Conduct the onboarding and training of new Sales Consultants.
  • Ensure Sales Consultants have the requisite skills, abilities, and assets to support the Empire brand standards.
  • Implement Corporate sales initiatives to ensure achievement of stated corporate goals.
  • Attend or participate in all Corporate training sessions.
  • Perform minimum of four ride-a-longs per week.
  • Creates and exhibits a sense of ownership.
  • Creates and supports a safe work environment.
  • Other duties necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent sales experience
  • Minimum two years’ sales experience and one year management or training experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of home improvement industry a plus.
  • Proficient Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong selling and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong coaching and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team in a stressful environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • This position spends half of their time working on a computer and using the phone, which requires the ability to use a keyboard to enter data (i.e., excel spreadsheets, creating presentations) and the ability to speak clearly on the phone.
  • This position spends half of their time working in the field with consultants training and helping to generate sales.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (i.e., training materials, product samples, etc.).
  • Ability to walk and stand while conducting information sessions and/or training for Sales Consultants.
  • The ability to perform the essential functions of the position physically and mentally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • The ability to report to work on a regular basis.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • This position is located in an office/cubicle setting and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
