Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Catering Sales Manager to fill our bountiful event space.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in hospitality sales, a deep understanding of the local market, and the ability to develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies. As the Catering Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing revenue opportunities, building strong client relationships, and establishing the Hacienda Hotel as the go-to venue for both social and corporate events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve and exceed catering revenue goals.
- Identify and pursue key market segments for events, including corporate meetings, social gatherings, and weddings.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, and actively seek new business opportunities through networking, sales calls, and industry events.
- Conduct site visits, property tours, and presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the unique features and charm of our hotel.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts to align with hotel standards and client expectations.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing on promotional initiatives and sales campaigns.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and sales performance to identify growth opportunities and address challenges.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, offering insights and strategies for continuous improvement.
- Work alongside the catering and events teams to ensure flawless coordination from the initial inquiry through event execution.
- Represent the hotel at local and regional industry events, trade shows, and business networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a sales management role within hospitality, with a focus on catering and event sales.
- Knowledge of the San Diego market and established industry contacts.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency in hotel sales software (e.g., STS, Delphi, Opera) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
