GENERAL DESCRIPTION

As a Sales Route Driver, you will represent Dorsey Tire Company in the field, delivering products to customers for the company using a company delivery vehicle. Sales Route Drivers must be able to meet deadlines, ensure timely deliveries, and provide all customers (and prospective customers) with a high-quality customer service experience. This position works closely with the Sales Manager and Outside Sales Representatives.

Candidates must be willing to do the following:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

· Determining the best route to drive to make all stops on time and preserve fuel economy.

· Interacting professionally with customers and notating customer preferences, acting as a contact for the company.

· Maintaining precise records of inventory moved and delivered.

· Communicating effectively with customers, sales managers, sales representatives, and inventory managers to facilitate accurate forecasting of merchandise needs, according to supply and demand.

· Driving goods along a set route following all applicable local laws and company policies.

· Loading and unloading merchandise from the warehouse and delivery vehicle to the destination.

· Properly maintain assigned Sales Vehicles including the appearance of on-board equipment.

· Wear proper PPE, use tire cages, and follow all other safety policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· A propensity for researching appropriate routes with attention to traffic patterns to determine the best roads to take, with assistance from GPS as needed.

· Excellent customer service and communication skills

· General technological knowledge, such as learning and using company devices to maintain accurate inventory records.

· Physical aptitude for the position; including the ability to hold scanning devices, drive, stand, and sit for long periods.

· Must have a personable, can-do attitude.

· Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history. (Note: All candidates will be screened through our insurance company before a job offer is made).

· Must be able to lift 80 pounds or more.

· Must be able to work a 5-day workweek from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

· Must be able to work overtime, including weekends if needed.

· Must have legible handwriting.

· Must be able to communicate to supervision in a timely fashion if problems or questions should arise.

· Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and work safely.

· Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.

· Must be able to pass a background check including employment history, SSN Verification, criminal history, etc.

· Must be able to pass a drug screening and DOT Physical before hire and throughout employment.

· Must be able to acquire a TWIC Card.

· Must be able to operate a Class 2 Vehicle with a pull behind trailer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to work outside in different elements.
