As a Marketing & Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and executing marketing and communications strategies for our clients, who are professional associations around the world. Our ideal candidate has experience developing marketing and communications campaigns from scratch and implementing new tactics based on analytics that support the client's goals. You will be comfortable with day-to-day marketing and communications activities, as well as long-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines and changing needs.
Responsibilities
- Creating marketing plans and communication strategies for various clients
- Supporting Managing Matters and their clients with the creation and execution of Marketing & Communications strategies (may include production of newsletters, media releases, announcements, and membership communications for clients.
- Develop, own, implement and measure online and offline marketing plans
- Maintain communications and marketing calendar.
- Creating social media communications and marketing plans for a variety of platforms and clients
- Effectively understanding and utilizing Managing Matters and their clients’ various social media and online platforms
- Working with a graphic designer to create marketing collateral
- Creating and curating engaging content for Managing Matters and their clients
- Communicating and nurturing relationships with team members and clients
- Building and managing media relations for our clients
- Performing various research and market analysis activities
- Reviewing content for spelling, grammar and quality
- Updating client websites’ copy and branding
- Account management/association management and administrative initiatives as required
- Identify the effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly
- Creating and leading email marketing campaigns and content
Desired skills and Experience
- Fluent bilingualism in English and French is an asset
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant post-secondary education with a minimum of 2-4 years in marketing and communications
- Experience in creating social media content and using social listening/tracking tools
- Experience with WordPress and other website platforms
- Experience in working with marketing budgets and paid social media and digital campaigns
- Experience in working with a graphic designer considered an asset
- Experience in media relations is considered an asset
- Experience in Association Management is considered an asset
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to multitask and work effectively on various projects simultaneously
- Excellent organization skills and ability to take care of details while managing multiple tasks and working under time constraints
- Advanced computer skills including MS office and Excel are extremely important, as well as experience using various email marketing tools
