About the job
As the Manitoba region Sales Representative, you will work diligently within your assigned sales territory ensuring continual growth via one-on-one communications with dealers. You will provide recommendations for the growth and development of existing distributors and new account opportunities. You will be responsible to maximize sales revenue, achieve annual budget targets, strive for growth, and provide sales forecasts. You will ensure “total customer satisfaction,” including timely communications, marketing program execution, and staying abreast of product development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in business planning and budget sessions as directed by your Leader
- Make target sales goals and strive towards what changes need to be made to meet those goals
- Review sales statistics and identify where strengths and weaknesses are and an action plan
- Develop and maintain a “total customer satisfaction” orientation
- Increase market share through a broader and deeper penetration of new customers and existing customers
- Implement a formal approach to market development. This will include a database of customers/potential customers, market intelligence, call list formalization, convention/trade show attendance, etc.
- Service existing distributor base and ensure customer satisfaction through the monitoring of sales to ensure individual customer criteria is met
- Execute marketing support strategies at approved brand standards, including distributor programs
- Monitor inventory positions as it relates to day-to-day sales operations in coordination with the shipping department
- Continue product and sales education through meetings, seminars, and tapes
- Support internal control procedures with respect to credit management (i.e.: credit holds) and assist in the clearance of any credit matters
- Manage accounts receivable through the regular review of aged accounts receivable listings, and the collection of overdue accounts (collaborate with Finance personnel dedicated to assist business units in this objective)
- Foster a team approach with full and open cross functional communication
- Keep your Sales Leader well informed
- Promote a safe, healthy work environment by maintaining a zero-tolerance standard of reducing risk of threat or injury; in compliance with legislative requirements and DLF Health & Safety policy
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree/Certificate in agricultural, sales or business-related field
- 4+ years of experience in agricultural sales-related business, seed experience preferred
- Demonstrate completion of applicable sales training programs
- Demonstrate ability to produce profitable sales growth – develop accounts
- Must be able to travel - 50%-70% travel time. Must have a valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and follow-up skills with attention to detail
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations and proposals
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation and Benefits:
This position comes with a competitive compensation plan that includes a base salary, benefits, company vehicle, Group RRSP option with company matching program, and potential for bonus. Compensation will be based on experience.
