Job Description

The NOV Pathway Rotational Program offers recent college graduates the opportunity to obtain meaningful work experiences through a structured 2-to-3-year rotational program. The program is designed to help participants develop strong functional/technical expertise and business knowledge through challenging, hands-on assignments and exposure to various groups across NOV. Towards the end of the program, participants will work with their management support team to identify full-time positions that best suit individual skill sets as well as company needs.

Participants remain on one career track based on education and career interest. Each career track has its own training and experience-based learning objectives, and knowledge and performance are evaluated following each rotation. The start date for this program will be in June, but sooner start dates are available.

Following the Sales career track, the primary responsibilities will be as follows:

1. Work with customer and Engineering team to ensure equipment meets the system requirements

2. Recommend new and improved products to the customer and explain how the equipment will be more cost effective

3. Participate and lead in ongoing equipment training with sales team

4. Establish relationships with key accounts

5. Actively promote NOV products/services

6. Assist with voice of the customer analysis

7. Assist in the alignment of products, services and operations to deliver on customer challenges

8. Monitor bid and proposal activity to achieve conversion rate KPIs

9. Use CAD programs and other engineering software for conceptual drawings, models, and weight analysis

10. Market share analysis

11. Ability to prepare cost estimates and technical specifications

12. Maintain CRM records and activities

13. Develop upper-level management requested reports and presentations

We invite you to apply if you have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Recent graduate (1-2 years) or graduating prior to June 2024 with an Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent years of experience
  • 0 to 3 years work experience required with a Bachelor’s degree or 5 to 10 years work experience required without a degree
  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan & prioritize to various deadlines
  • Participating & chairing meetings
  • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Fracturing, Acidizing, Cementing, Coil Tubing
  • Capable of understanding NOV’s portfolio of products and services at a technical level to align them with sales strategy.
  • Able to identify priority activities and convey them to the Sales and Operations Team to effectively coordinate the allocation of resources.
  • Willing to be the champion for business growth.
  • Willing to overcome roadblocks and challenges to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Capable of navigating an organization to maximize intelligence and effectively co-ordinate the allocation of resources.
  • Able to present and communicate professionally
  • Able to build relationships and trust with customers and support network.
  • Responsibility for supporting corporate and customers HSE policies and procedures
  • Retains sales forecast and Sales Strategy development to achieve plan. Candidate is expected to continuously drive the development of sales plans to support adding value and developing customer intimacy.
  • Maintains a strong working relationship with key personnel with key accounts. Candidate will use these relationships to: support sales and services initiatives, benchmark and monitor Sales Group performance, develop new and innovative ideas.
