PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role will be supporting our growth business OC Lumber, that manufactures and sells fiberglas reinforced, fully synthetic deck boards and structural lumber products. The business boasts countless opportunities to expand into the building industry.


Your primary customers will be building materials distribution and lumber companies, deck and dock builders, home builders and contractors. As we will help you develop the necessary product knowledge, application expertise and building science insights, industry experience is not required but is preferred. With that support, you will be prepared to utilize financial business acumen, and the ability to critically analyze market trends that will help your customers (and you) succeed.


Reports to: Key Account Manager

Span of Control: No direct reports


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


What your success looks like with Owens Corning:

  • Strategically leveraging customer relationships to execute your annual sales plan, while helping your customers achieve their success.
  • Driving growth within the building materials industry; providing added value to OC and your customers
  • Executing price strategy and providing customer insights.
  • Growing with existing customers while developing new customer opportunities.
  • Utilizing the knowledge of your market’s strengths and weaknesses to win.


Skills and Expertise Necessary to Succeed:

  • Prior experience selling on the value of a product or service to meet the needs of a customer, from cold call through close.
    • 3-5 years of demonstrated ability to deliver results in previous sales role is preferred.
  • Listening skills that allow you to understand, diagnose and solve customer problems.
  • Driving success in business with a clear and intentional customer or territory strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to make persuasive product presentations.
  • Conducts self with the highest ethical and moral standards.


Additional Information:

  • Position is home office based with the ability to travel overnight
  • Position must be home based within the territory you serve
  • Ability to operate across geographic and cultural boundaries
  • Ability to interact with representatives from suppliers and OC Customers
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to travel up to 80% (within territory)
  • Company car may be considered for this role depending on geographic location


JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, business management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite
