Job Purpose

As a Solutions Engineer, you bridge technical expertise and customer needs. Your role involves pre-sales technical consulting for managed network and computing solutions. You collaborate with customers, understand their requirements, and architect customized solutions aligned with Zero Trust/Cybersecurity principles.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical Consultation:
    • Establish and maintain technical relationships with prospects and existing customers.
    • Builds the Technical Architectual Documents with responsibility for end-to-end designs.
    • Creates BOM’s and develops a scope of work for the solution.
    • Understand how to develop a SOW to address the customer solution.
    • Trusted advisor to the customer for solving customer business challenges.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on SageNet’s services and equipment offerings.
  • Solution Development:
    • Co-develop pricing and ROI strategies with Sales Account Executives.
    • Architect complete solutions based on existing products, services, and future roadmaps.
    • Strong knowledge of building Cyber Security Solutions.
  • Proposal and Presentation:
    • Provide accurate costing and documentation for proposed custom solutions.
    • Strong ability to influence the customer on the SageNet solution.
    • Engage company resources to create high-quality RFP/RFI/RFQ responses.
    • Deliver technical presentations to customers.
  • Collaboration and Content Creation:
    • Team up with Account Managers and technology partners.
    • Assist in proposal development, technical white papers, and feedback reports.
    • Evaluate new products and services.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of Technical Pre-Sales Experience illustrating the value of products and services.
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of SDWAN, SASE, Cyber Security, and Cloud Computing.
  • Ability to qualify, design, and price LAN, WLAN, and WAN solutions.
  • Proven ability to establish and nurture relationships within large IT organizations, technology partners, and networking events.
  • A strong desire to learn new concepts rapidly and the ability to think creatively when faced with new opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with network architectures using Cisco, Meraki, and/or Fortinet equipment.
  • Practical experience in configuring and managing networking equipment.
  • Industry Technical Certifications (ITIL, ITSM, or Cyber Security certs).
  • Cisco/Meraki and Fortinet Professional Certifications.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering is preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Corporate office spaces, remote work, and customer site visits.
  • Dress code expectations include business casual attire in the office and professional attire when meeting with customers.
  • Travel: nights, weekends, and overnight travel (approximately 25% of your time).
  • Comfortably handle domestic air travel.
  • Productively work in a hybrid work environment which consists of 2 mandatory “all-in” days, 1 variable day, and 2 virtual days. Hybrid work environment is applied per position/department and may be subject to change per changes in the Policy.

Physical Requirements

  • You should be able to sit for extended periods without issues.
  • While giving presentations, you’ll need to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Extensive use of hands and fingers is required for tasks such as typing, handling baggage, and paperwork.
  • Good eyesight is essential for reviewing contracts and data on computer screens or in physical form.
