We are seeking a Business Development Specialist based in Florida with a minimum of 3 years of experience at a large chemical distributor. The ideal candidate is a self-starter eager to advance their career in this dynamic industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relationship Building & Account Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with potential and existing customers, establishing trust, and understanding their specific needs through email and phone communication.
- Product & Solution Presentation: Deliver compelling presentations and respond to inquiries, demonstrating the value proposition of our firm and solutions.
- Proposal Development & Negotiation: Prepare competitive proposals and negotiate mutually beneficial deals aligning with both company and customer interests.
Sales Team Support will include:
- Lead Generation: Access to a continuous stream of leads, including purchasing managers and research & development managers, provided by the team.
- Outbound Marketing: Utilise innovative software to automate outbound email marketing processes.
- Comprehensive Products and Robust Financial Positioning: Leverage relationships with over 35 principals primarily based in Global markets to competitively source products across more than 15 industries. Benefit from a robust financial position to provide competitive pricing and net terms, with a focus on long-term customer relationships.
Strategic Guidance:
- Receive support and guidance from corporate headquarters to gain education on products, empower you with technical and business knowledge across industries, and provide strategic support, including sales strategies and optimization based on market response.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role at an established chemical distributor, chemical sales
- Proven ability to identify and qualify potential customers, build strong relationships, and secure new business opportunities.
- Established contacts within the industry to support business development goals.
- Strong understanding of the chemical distribution industry, market trends, and competitor landscape.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with sequencing systems is an advantage such as Apollo
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and achieve set targets and deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Passion for the chemical industry and commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish
