Job Description
Reporting to the Highway 16 Site Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
- To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.
- To be dependable for all scheduled shifts, both inside and outside the facilities as required (approx. 90% of shifts will take place outdoors).
- To provide information, assistance and service to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs, requirements and expectations of the consumer.
- To perform general housekeeping duties and maintain a neat, clean and orderly department at all times.
- To order merchandise as directed by the Agro Sales Manager/Agro Centre Manager as per Saskatoon Co-op Policies and Procedures.
- To receive merchandise as directed by the Agro Sales Manager/Agro Centre Manager as per Saskatoon Co-op Policies and Procedures.
- To display merchandise as directed by the Agro Sales Manager/Agro Centre Manager as per Saskatoon Co-op Policies and Procedures.
- To operate the point of sale terminal and prepare daily cash reconciliations when required.
- To be responsible for the care and periodic repair/servicing of grain augers, equipment rental units etc. as assigned.
- Must be able and willing to occasionally travel to other agro locations as requested.
- To be familiar with and adhere to Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be strongly service-oriented and motivated, and capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Must have previous farm or agricultural experience with proven mechanical ability preferably with farm and agricultural equipment.
- Prior forklift experience will be an asset.
- Must be proficient in cash register operations.
- Must possess sufficient knowledge, experience and physical ability in the handling and merchandising of all products carried in order to effectively operate in the department.
- Must be prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics and seminars and training sessions.
- Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
