The Senior Catering Sales Manager (Multiple Venues) role is designed for a passionate, service-oriented individual who excels in both client relationship management and driving revenue for the hotel's meeting space and restaurant space services. This position is critical to the success of the hotel’s catering business, requiring expertise in sales, operations, and customer service. Below is a detailed breakdown of the primary responsibilities and job requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Business Development and Account Management:
    • Solicit and service weddings, local corporate catering events, social events, and meetings for the hotel’s meeting and restaurant spaces.
    • Balance the needs of maintaining current business accounts while actively prospecting for new opportunities.
    • Cultivate and sustain strong, profitable relationships with clients, ensuring continued business growth.
  • Revenue Management:
    • Responsible for meeting or exceeding catering revenue budgets.
    • Work closely with the Director of Catering and Conference Services and Director of Sales to achieve food and beverage goals and strategies aimed at positively impacting hotel revenue.
    • Maximize revenue potential by coordinating room rental fees, catering charges, and additional services.
    • Implement marketing strategies to enhance sales efforts and revenue generation.
  • Coordination of Events and Groups:
    • Manage and oversee the Hotel’s catering events.
    • Coordinate all logistics for groups, meetings, and catering events, including room arrangements, catering menus, and special requests.
    • Monitor rooming lists, cutoff dates, billing arrangements, and VIP client needs.
    • Ensure smooth coordination of events with all Hotel departments.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Provide accurate forecasts for food & beverage revenues.
    • Monitor and adjust meeting space usage to maximize hotel revenue potential.
    • Conduct hotel site inspections and ensure proper documentation and follow-through for every event booking.
    • Prepare Resumes to assure operational departments have the necessary information to exceed client expectations.
    • Oversee and review invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper commission payments, and timely billing and cancellation management.
  • Team Collaboration and Administrative Support:
    • Schedule and coordinate interdepartmental meetings to align all operational aspects.
    • Participate in meetings as required by the Hotel Manager or Director of Sales.
    • Complete special projects as assigned by hotel leadership in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is preferred.
    • 2+ years of catering experience in a similar hotel or hospitality setting is preferred, with a strong focus on weddings and event coordination.
    • Luxury hotel experience is highly preferred, with a proven track record of managing high-end catering events.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Advanced knowledge of catering sales and understanding the balance between client service and profitability.
    • Computer proficiency in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Delphi, and other sales management tools.
    • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) in English, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Operational and Managerial Competence:
    • Familiarity with hotel operations, including catering, guest services, and interdepartmental coordination.
    • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
