Primary Functions for Director of Furniture (Workplace and Educations Interiors):

We are seeking a dynamic leader who is experienced, well-versed, and knowledgeable in all aspects of transactional, commercial/project-based furniture sales and installation across a wide spectrum of markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing, including hands-on full engagement with all aspects of Brame’s Furniture category ensuring we are operating efficiently, effectively, and profitably to meet desired business growth goals. In this role, the successful candidate will aide in the selection of furniture vendors, build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, work closely with Brame Sales Leadership and other department leaders. And, will manage a team that includes Designer, Project Coordinator, Procurement Specialist assigned to furniture category, and an Installation Manager who oversees Field Installers.


Responsibilities and Duties for
Director of Furniture (Workplace and Educations Interiors):

  • Manage a team, assigning roles and responsibilities for improving overall efficiencies and driving sales for the furniture segment (including quoting, purchasing and installation).
  • Provide leadership, working cross-functional with other departments (sales, marketing, purchasing, finance and operations) to execute furniture category strategies throughout the organization.
  • Develop, initiate, implement and provide ongoing support of selling strategies around both transactional and project-based furniture sales, working in unison with other category Directors and Sales Leadership.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing the business tactics for development, marketing and sales goals for the furniture category.
  • Develop, initiate and execute plans to meet both revenue and profit goals regarding the furniture category.
  • Coordinating with Sales Leadership, develop, initiate and execute plans for training of sales consultants in knowledge of and ability to sell furniture to both exiting customers and new opportunities.
  • Some In-field work making end-user calls with sales consultants and delivering presentations to customers.
  • Make recommendations, assist with negotiations, and provide guidance around both vendor partnerships and any inventory which may require a stocking position.
  • Assist in preparing capital budget plan and expense management plan for the entire department.
  • Provide guidance and direction in response to both sales consultant and customer inquiries related to furniture, space planning, and design.
  • Assist procurement with furniture vendor/supplier initial vetting process including dealership agreements, terms, pricing, overall programs and ongoing with monitoring quality of product provided and vendor performance.
  • Continually analyze customer requirements and develop product recommendations to drive sales.
  • Address end-user customer queries and concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Assist and provide guidance to sales consultants with manufacturer, item and design selection along with customer negotiations.
  • Remain fully engaged and stay updated on industry trends and market competitions.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows.
  • Perform other duties required by manager.


Qualifications for Director of Furniture (Workplace and Educations Interiors):


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred
  • Applicable understanding of P&L, financial statements and budgets
  • 5+ years of experience within the “project-based” furniture field
  • Working knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint, Excel, Planner, Power Point and CET Designer
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible work hours
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to pass the company’s background and Motor Vehicle Report and the company’s drug testing requirements


Work Environment for Director of Furniture (Workplace and Educations Interiors):


  • Sit for long periods of time as a desk or riding in a vehicle traveling
  • Climb steps to enter and exit the buildings performing site surveys
  • Ability to lift, maneuver and transport pieces of furniture as samples to demonstrate, or potentially assisting with a installation
  • Work with a CRT screen for long periods of time
  • Very fast-paced, every-changing, fluid
  • All employees are expected to cross-train and multi-task.
  • Willingness and Flexibility to travel


Brame uses the EOS Management System. All employees will participate in regularly scheduled L10 Meetings to discuss departmental issues and suggest opportunities for improvement. All Manager and Supervisors are required to have quarterly conversations with each of their direct reports.
