Senior Network Engineer

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Vice President - IT, the Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining our network infrastructure, including but not limited to Citrix NetScaler, Cisco UCS, SAN, network switching and routing, VMware, and network firewalls. You will also be expected to have strong expertise in AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

In addition, this position will work closely with cross-functional team members to support and maintain Cendyn’s products, including high level systems troubleshooting and support.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure components such as Citrix NetScaler, Cisco UCS, SAN, network switching and routing devices, VMware, and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
• Perform network security assessments and implement necessary measures to protect against potential threats.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify areas for improvement or optimization.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends related to network engineering.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies as needed.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
• Experience with Microsoft Server OS's.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a home office environment. Occasional work inside a Datacenter operating environment will be required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and subject to changes by Manager’s communication and may have to accommodate client schedules in different international time zones.

Travel:

This position could require up to 10% travel.
