Automotive General Sales Manager / General Manager needed for family-owned dealership north of Hartford, CT. The successful candidate is a proactive General Sales Manager / GM that is great at training, mentoring, and motivating their team to be the best they can be. The store is in good condition, with a stable team in place, and has further opportunity for growth with plenty of inventory available! This person will be responsible for leading the front-end operations for the dealership and will report directly to the Dealer Principal.
Moreover, the dealer is looking for a General Sales Manager that is hands-on and knows how to make things happen. It is important that the person hired is great with customers and getting units sold. The successful candidate is a proven variable ops leader who knows how to push new units, ensure processes are followed, and ensures that any customer issues are handled in a professional and amicable way. The dealership has a great reputation so it is important that the person hired is ethical and honest to maintain that. This is with a low-turnover organization so it is a great long-term opportunity for a proven GSM / GM looking for a home. This is part of a growing dealer group that likes to promote from within so there is future growth opportunity within the organization as well.

Responsibilities:- Oversee all aspects of the automotive sales department, including new and used vehicle sales, financing, and customer service.
- Lead the team by ensuring policies and procedures are followed
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
- Recruit, train, and mentor dealership staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular feedback and coaching to sales team members.
- Manage, mentor, and oversee the Sales Manager and Finance Manager
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers to promote repeat business and referrals.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and strategies to drive sales.
- Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Excellent 5 day schedule, 40 hour work week with two consecutive days off in a row.
- Compensation package will be in the $130,000 - $150,000 range with room for further growth.
