Job Description
Dreamscape Learn, a pioneer in the realm of immersive virtual reality entertainment and learning design, is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS and Terraform to join our growing engineering team. This role will focus on supporting backend engineers by ensuring that our AWS infrastructure is efficient, scalable, and reliable. You will be responsible for managing cloud resources, optimizing SQL databases, and automating workflows. A strong understanding of scripting and programming, especially with Python, is a big plus.
Responsibilities
- Support and collaborate with the backend engineering team in designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS-based infrastructure.
- Manage and optimize infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Ensure AWS services are secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Assist in administering and optimizing SQL databases, with a focus on performance tuning and reliability.
- Create and maintain automated scripts for cloud management, infrastructure tasks, and monitoring.
- Ensure smooth integration between cloud services, containers, and backend systems.
- Collaborate in the development of CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable deployments.
- Work with containerization technologies like Docker to ensure consistency and scalability across environments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues in cloud infrastructure and services. Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery of our infrastructure.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience.
- 2-4 years of experience working with AWS, including services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, VPC, and CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of Docker for containerization.
- Strong scripting and programming skills, with Python being a plus.
- Familiarity with serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda).
- Deep understanding of SQL databases, including database administration, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with cloud security best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with developers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline (preferred).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus (preferred).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration is a plus but not required.
