Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer - someone with a strong mechanical, fabrication, or building/handyman hands-on experience. Someone that is also able to Travel when needed for a few various trade shows/expos throughout the year for setup and dismantle of equipment.

The purpose for this position is to Assist with support of sales team efforts to generate new business by helping them with execution of showing equipment through use of testing and product reviews. Will maintain the warehouse, shipping/receiving, and show room/demo area for use; keeping the area clean and organized.

Work hours is from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Mondays to Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

Perform or assist with the following customer sales activity functions:

  • Assist sales team with customer visits and trials and products with regards to rigging and setting up, cleaning/sanitization and tear down of equipment.
  • Aid in the preparation and setups/dismantle for all customer visits, trial/testing/FAT setups, and offsite trade shows.
  • Maintain control, proper sanitation, and specific information on location of all tests, demo and customer scales and related equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and controlled warehouse, shipping/receiving, and show room/demo area.
  • Responsible for Sanimatic/washers, forklifts, scissors lift equipment usage and preservation
  • Responsible for care of chemical lists, SDS, and technical sheets.
  • Maintain storage of customer product list, storage methods and disposal.
  • Produce product sample reports for sales team.
  • Assist with picking, packing and shipping of inventory parts or sales inventory.
  • Palletize, band, prepare various equipment for shipments to customers or the Headquarters
  • Responsible for prevention maintenance, light industrial repairs, painting, daily sweeping, empty garbage and recycling weekly.
  • Support facility management: i.e., safety, WISCON and 5S programs.
  • Other reasonable duties as requested by the management team.

General responsibilities

  • Conduct all business activities in a safe and ethical manner. Wear proper PPE.
  • Safeguard the assets and information of the company under the knowledge and control of this position. Ensure that all technical developments, data on company operations and customer data are treated as confidential information.
  • Comply with all government laws, regulations, and the Company Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to the responsibility of this position.
  • Prepare periodic informational reports for management as requested.
  • Continuously strive to improve your job knowledge, business skills and capabilities.
  • Set weekly milestones (goals) with immediate supervisor and communicate with your supervisor on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1 to 5 years prior work experience in a professional setting.
  • Familiarity with technical writing, basic sales concepts, practices, and procedures is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with prospective and existing customers and internal staff
  • Must hold characteristics which show initiative and quality of work.

Working conditions

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and kneel, sit and occasionally climb and balance. The position requires lifting objects up to 50 pounds. The forklift will be used to unload trucks and to move pallets. Computer use will also be required. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
