AUTOMATION SALES ENGINEER
We are seeking a motivated, high-energy, technical Automation Account Manager to join our team.

We need a Tech Sales Rep who can use his or her sales and/or engineering/mechanical background to find new business and take great care of our existing customers, to increase our manufacturing customers' profitability and strengthen the HS Automation Team. Requirements / Knowledge & Skills
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in engineering or business-related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in engineering or sales role in similar industry
  • Sales experience in industrial automation the with achievements.
  • Persuasiveness/closing ability.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to initiate, maintain, and develop relationships.
  • High level of Mechanical skills necessary for success.
  • Computer literacy is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
As an HS Automation Technical Sales Representative, here’s some of what you will be doing:
Actively calling on prospective customers and accurately assessing their automation needs relative to the characteristics of their business, with a Hunter mentality for growing new business.
Support existing customers with an eye toward new opportunities.
Effectively communicate highly technical information regarding our automation products and services to the appropriate decision makers
Attend pre-bid meetings, validate specifications, and participate in the development of automation solutions that meet the customer's technical and commercial requirements
Consult with internal resources, such as Legal, Finance, Sales (racking), Technical office, Purchasing, Production, and Operations, to evaluate client requirements and develop a comprehensive project proposal to ensure customer satisfaction and completion of customer projects while ensuring time, milestone, revenue expectations are met
Developing a thorough understanding of customers' business goals and objectives, operating systems, and manufacturing processes.
Building relationships with decision-makers: making initial contact and developing a rapport to identify customer needs and introduce HS’s capabilities.
Developing and maintaining a Customer Contact and Opportunity Database for assigned accounts. Monitoring Sales Activity Reports, projecting annual sales goals, preparing territorial sales forecasts, and verifying that the sales funnel supports the forecast and projected sales.
Reviewing customer activities at least quarterly with Sales Team Leader and strategizing ways to maximize sales volumes or grow territory.
Assist in the development of technical material, cost estimates, project and system handling concepts based on client needs, customer bid specifications, and client proposal documentation
Deliver and present proposals and technical solutions to customers, participating in project review meetings with customers
Manage customer contract negotiations, NDAs, and commercial items during bid process, including terms, delivery, payment schedule, insurance requirements, etc.
Understand the competition’s technology and pricing strategy
Provide feedback to Management and Parent Company to facilitate R&D efforts and new product development in support of the US market needs
Maintain CRM database
Travel in furtherance of responsibilities
Work out of home office autonomously, with plenty of back-up technical support.
Mostly day trips; home for dinner.
Physical Requirements
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 25lbs or heavier.
